As the Senior Design/Illustrator at Kidkraft®, I had the privilege of leading the creative surface direction for this charming dollhouse. To ensure that the final product aligned with my vision, I put together a detailed mood board that illustrated the vintage-rose style and optimistic color palette that I felt would work best for the house.
One of my primary tasks for this project was to create a unique bed concept and apply artwork to it. This bed design has since been used in several other Kidkraft® products. I used silkscreen methods to give the bed the feel of a wrought iron bed without using molded plastic, adding an extra level of authenticity to the design.
This dollhouse is filled with delightful details that are just waiting to be discovered. From cookies baking in the oven to a sewing machine tucked away in the china cabinet, there are countless surprises hidden throughout the artwork.
Throughout the project, I worked closely with my talented teammates at Kidkraft®, collaborating on concepts, mock-ups, and final production. I utilized a variety of skills and programs, including Adobe Illustrator, Patterning, Sewing, Adobe Photoshop, CMYK printing, and Production Files, to bring this dollhouse to life.
All artwork and design for this project are the sole property of KidKraft®, Inc.
The talented team of individuals who contributed to the creation of this dollhouse includes Industrial Designer Amanda Wagoner and sculptor/Plastics specialist Steven Bates.
