As a Senior Designer/Illustrator at Kidkraft®, I had the opportunity to work on the KidKraft® Disney® Frozen Snowflake Mansion. This project involved creating original surface artwork for the house, furniture, and fabrics based on the Disney® Frozen movie.
My process started with brainstorming, concepts, and mock-ups, in collaboration with my teammates at Kidkraft® and the Disney® licensing team. We traveled to Disney headquarters to work with them in person and followed their submission process.
Next, I created all the ice illustrations in vector design using Adobe Illustrator, including crystals, arches, and auroras. These designs were used in multiple products for this licensing program. I also created furniture graphics, such as the sofa illustration tufting, as a repeating vector design.
Finally, I created the production files for the KidKraft® Disney® Frozen Snowflake Mansion. These files were sent to Asia for manufacturing, so they needed to be highly accurate and detailed. I created clean, layered vector-based files with detailed callouts for colors and materials, with the help of Emily Dixon, the Industrial Designer.
