The objective was to design a Dollhouse to coincide with Elsa’s castle from Frozen.
Elsa's Ice Castle is a medium-scale dollhouse that was developed as part of the Frozen series, featuring the ice theme that is central to the movie. As the Senior Designer/Illustrator at KidKraft®, my role was to create original artwork for the house, furniture, and fabrics. I added my own creative flair to the design, bringing the magical world of Frozen to life in a tangible way.
Working closely with my team at KidKraft® and the Disney® Licensing team, we collaborated in brainstorming sessions, concept development, and mock-ups, to ensure that the final product would meet our exact specifications. My role also included the preparation of highly detailed production files that were accurate and clear, with color and material callouts. This level of attention to detail was essential for the manufacturing process, as the files were sent to Asia for production.
In the creation of Elsa's Ice Castle, I utilized a range of skills and programs, including Adobe Illustrator, CMYK printing, silkscreen printing, and production files. All artwork and design were produced under the copyright of KidKraft®, Inc. and Disney®. The industrial designer for the project was Emily Dixon, while Stephen Bates worked as the plastics/sculptor.
