Surface Design and Illustrations
As the Surface Designer/Illustrator for the Disney® Frozen Arendelle Palace Dollhouse by KidKraft®, my primary role was to create the surface pattern design and illustrations to replicate the palace from the movie under the direction of Disney®. I illustrated elements such as the icy roof and the iconic fireplace, as well as the exterior artwork, ice trees, and stone work as they were not provided. The end goal was to create a dollhouse that replicated the movie as closely as possible.
Collaboration and Concepts
Working in close collaboration with my teammates at Kidkraft® and Disney® Licensing team, we worked together on concepts, mock-ups, and final production files. We used Adobe Illustrator and other design programs to create the surface design for the house, as well as furniture art, carefully replicating the look and feel of the palace in the movie.
Production Process
Throughout the production process, we utilized skills such as CMYK and silkscreen printing, as well as creating production files for large-scale printing. All artwork and design are the property of KidKraft®, Inc., and Disney®.
Team Members
Other designers and illustrators who contributed to the project include Misty-Roze and Lauren Boley. Industrial Designer Emily Dixon and Plastics/Sculptor Stephen Bates were also part of the team.
