Surface Design and Illustrations
As the Senior Surface Designer/Illustrator at Kidkraft®, my project role was to create original surface pattern design and illustrations for the Chelsea Doll Cottage, including furniture and fabric colors. The dollhouse was developed in an English Rose style with rose, dot, and check patterns, featuring a pink, blue, red, and white color scheme.
Collaboration and Concepts
Working together with the team at KidKraft®, we brainstormed concepts, created mock-ups, and finalized production. We used Adobe Illustrator to create vector artwork and multi-program painting in Adobe Photoshop to bring the design to life, ensuring that each detail was perfectly captured in the final product.
Production Process
As the Senior Surface Designer/Illustrator for the Chelsea Doll Cottage at KidKraft®, my role involved creating highly accurate production files with color and material callouts. These files were sent to Asia for manufacturing, so they needed to be clean, layered, and vector-based. This attention to detail was crucial for ensuring that the final product met our exact specifications.
