The Abbey Manor Dollhouse was another project that I worked on as a Senior Designer/Illustrator at Kidkraft®. This project involved creating original surface artwork for the house and color for furniture and fabrics.
My process started with mood boards that included various color palettes and sketching ideas. Then, I used Adobe Illustrator to create the artwork in a vector format with a high resolution and easily adjustable soft watercolor style. I paid attention to every detail to make the dollhouse look realistic and charming.
Next, I created product sample mock-ups on large format printers in-house. This allowed us to see how the product would look in person and make any necessary adjustments before showcasing it to the public.
Finally, I created accurate production files with all the necessary details, such as color callouts and materials. I also created 1-to-1 artwork with accurately aligned artwork for Asia.
To achieve this level of quality, I used various skills and programs, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and CMYK printing. I also collaborated with an Industrial Designer, Kaitlin York, who designed the structure of the dollhouse.
My role included style boards, illustrations, mock-ups, and final production files, all aimed at creating a stunning, high-quality product that met KidKraft®’s standards. All artwork and design for the Abbey Manor Dollhouse are © KidKraft®, Inc.
